Frequently Asked Questions about our Amphitheatre:
* What is the venue like?
The Fred B. Cranford Amphitheatre is an outdoor venue at 401 Church Street NW in Valdese, NC . We share a parking lot with the Trail of Faith. The theatre seating capacity 500.
All seating is first come, first served.
* Do I need to bring my own chair?
You are more than welcome to bring your own chair. Many people find it more comfortable to do so. We also have chairs available for you, so if you don't want to bring one, NO WORRIES.
* Is the amphitheater handicap accessible?
Yes, it is! There is a paved sloping path down to the seating area and wheelchair safe access at the back of the seating area.
* What if it rains?
The short answer is "We get wet". We only cancel in case of torrential downpours or lightning. In case of inclement weather, we will make a determination of whether we will go on as early as possible. If the rain seems to be moving out of the area, we reserve the right to hold the show time up to 20 minutes for weather to clear. On nights when rain is possible, you are encouraged to bring umbrellas or rain gear to use during the performance.
If we are forced to cancel a show, we will give you a rain check for another performance. Refunds are only available for the final performance or if you are coming from over an hour away.
* Can I bring in food/drink?
We do offer a concessions stand with light refreshments (popcorn, candy, chips, peanuts, drinks etc..) All of our concessions are very reasonably priced, so we find it is honestly cheaper for you to buy from us instead of the store.
During some of our outdoor performances, we obtain special permits for the sale of beer and wine. NO OUTSIDE ALCOHOL is ever allowed to be brought into the venue. This is a violation of ABC laws and our permit and we will be fined greatly (and so will you!)
